Today it was brought to my attention that there was a car running in the Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway that had no other sponsors except for a big "Q" on the hood. #QAnon
The car was driven by Reed Sorenson, who also ran a Trump 2016 Campaign car back on November 2, 2016. So it would seem that if anyone was going to run such a car, it would be this guy.
Premium Motorsports is getting political at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday.
(November 2, 2016)
The team, which fields backmarker cars in the Sprint Cup Series, will support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign on Reed Sorenson’s No. 55. Premium posted images of the car to its Facebook page Wednesday. (Note: The page of which these pictures were taken from is no longer accessible.)
It’s not the first time a team in NASCAR has supported Trump’s candidacy, though it’s the first time the support has been shown in the Cup Series. Two weeks ago at Talladega, a Camping World Truck Series team ran a Trump/Pence paint scheme.
So I started digging.
This is what I found.
There is a newly formed company, called Sustainable Quarry based in Dallas Texas.
From Sustainable Quarry Website:
DIGITAL ASSET MINING with RENEWABLE ENERGY
Our pod systems use only clean energy from wind to power sustainable cryptocurrency mining. We're eliminating the environmental impact and profit friction related mass energy consumption linked to blockchain mining. We have a hands-on team with the capability to fabricate, construct and configure. Best of all, we eliminate the cost goliath and the greatest recurring hindrance to profit, electricity.
Wind Power Technology
Our patent pending vertical axis turbine utilizes a NACA standard air foil blade that acts like a wing to create lift and thrust from wind force. Thus leveraging the wind and Newton's 2nd and 3rd Laws of Physics to create power...
Do you know how much money it takes to be the primary sponsor on a NASCAR Cup Series car for one race? Well it sure isn't cheap!
As Reported By RacingNews.Co:
Farmers Insurance paid roughly $660,000/per race for the past 6 season’s.
FARMERS INSURANCE
NASCAR PRIMARY SPONSORSHIP COSTS
2012: $13.5 million (22 races)
2013: $14.04 million (22 races)
2014: $16.348 million (22 races)
2015: $7.6 million (12 races)
2016: $7.8 million (12 races)
2017: $8 million (12 races)
Although it appears to be true, it seems unusual for a company that is only a few months old to be spending so much money on a NASCAR sponsorship.
The Quarry Token logo is very similar to the Sustainable Quarry logo.
It's most likely since Mr. Stone has experience with NASCAR sponsorship that he would do the same for his other companies.
It would appear that this debunks the possibility that the 7 car driven by Reed Sorenson at Texas Motor Speedway on November 4, 2018 has anything to do with QAnon.
However, it probably makes a really cool looking die-cast model for your display shelf.
