Fox reported that it could happen as soon as TODAY, when Justice Roberts will swear in soon to be Justice Kavanaugh at the Supreme Court. They showed a caravan of black SUVs bringing Justice Kavanaugh from his home, on their way to the Supreme Court. No time to waste!
There will be a ceremonial swearing in on Monday or Tuesday of next week, by President Trump, who is very pleased. #WINNING
Finally!!!
We are all so exhausted from this three ring circus that has been the Senate for the last three months.
Here is a timeline of the events.
There was one Senator, Steve Daines, R-Mont., that attended his daughter’s wedding instead of voting, so in order to accommodate him, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, voted “present” on the confirmation. The two votes cancelled each other out. It's a practice called "pairing."
When votes are paired on the Senate floor, senators announce their intended votes in the Congressional Record, explaining that the offsetting opposite votes will not affect the outcome.
WATCH: Sen. Murkowski again says that she will vote against confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but asks to be recorded as present so Sen. Daines does not have to leave daughter’s wedding to vote. https://t.co/urPMbwqh8V pic.twitter.com/tco8pRU1Vo

Why Murkowski is gonna be recorded as "present" -- it's a practiced called "pair between senators," and it ensures that the vote margin would be the same as if a senator who has to miss a vote -- Daines in this case -- were there

I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court. Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!
